Dusty Henry
I had to have Dusty put down over the weekend. He had suffered long enough with his medical condition. I explained to Trey that Dusty was dead.
Me: “Trey, I had to get Dusty put to sleep today, he was very sick.”
Trey: “When is Dusty going to be home?”
Me: “He won’t be coming home, he is dead.”
Trey: “Dusty’s dead?”
Me: “Yea, I’m afraid so, he was very sick.”
Trey: “It’s OK daddy… … Hey we can build a robot cat!”
Me: “A robot cat?”
Trey: “Yea!! And when he gets too wild, we can turn him off!”
Me: “You know what? That’s a great idea Trey!”
Trey: “Great! We can start in the morning…”
I love my boys.
